It's nice that, is designed to publish print and events relating to creativity in the design and art world. The content is fresh. Posts and events are regularly being added. I chose this blog because firstly the name of it really caught my attention. I also really love that it isn't over powered by colour and that they haven't made their tabs and icons take up lots of space, making the content the real focus. Having the icon links to their other social media sites as well as the search tab in the top right is one of my favourite design choices on this page. I think this blog was designed in the way that it is because the designers wanted to create a space that was informative and could easily be followed. They wanted to focus on the content rather than gimmicks.
I love this blog. It is a great place to go when you are looking for a novelty gift for someone. It is basically a collection of products which have been put into categories and if you click on one of the products it will link you to a site where you can buy it from. I really like the layout. The list of icons linking to there other social media sites being on the left of the page constantly as you scroll down the page it a really neat idea giving you quick access to them all the time. I also really love the banner and how the have made there different categories a drop down menu rather that individual tabs on the page. I think the designers of this blog really focused on making the products accessible and navigating around the page simple for their users.
Serifs and Sans is used like a gallery to showcase new talent, typography, modernism and more. All of the work is very minimalistic. I chose this blog because I just love the overall simplistic look of it. The presentation of it fits the gallery of work thats being show cased. Its the small details of the layout that I really love like the way the have presented the date for each post and the simple heading and sub headings. This blog is a great example of how white space can really work. I think when this blog was designed they had in mind 'online exhibition' the simplicity of the layout and context that supports each piece of work is very minimal like what you would see in an exhibition.
This is just a cool blog with tips, tutorials, products and more relating to makeup and hair beauty. I chose it because I really like the layout. It is fresh looking and easy to navigate around with pictures and a tabs menu at the top. The page isn't complicated and I think that was intended as the publisher just wanted to make a space where they could share tips and information on what they love with people who have a mutual interest.
This blog is all about discussing marketing, influence and social media and how that all fits in today's business world. It isn't a topic that particularly interests me but I just really liked the simplicity of the website and the layout. I like the use of columns in his layout it gives it a more article/ magazine type of feel to the page. It is just such a clean, crisp layout that allows readers to navigate around easily and enjoy reading the articles without being distracted by everything else around it.
Dustn.tv is a blog created by a guy with passion for design, creativity and social media. He tells his stories as well as helping others tell theirs. I always love reading what he has to say and find it pretty inspiring stuff. I really love his blog, it is an innovative design. I like the way he has sectioned it and made it unique to him. He has just created a real cool space for people to come and learn. It is easy to navigate around with clear labelling and tabs.
I have never actually tried anything off this blog but its a blog dedicated to different recipes using jelly. It is created using blogger which is one of the main reasons why I chose it. I liked it because it was a just a really well presented blog. It also showed how one of the more different layouts offered on blogger could be applied and actually work successfully. I really like how it is just a page full of snapshots and each snap shot links you to the recipe page for it. I think it works really well for a design blog because its still stylish but easy to navigate around. Lots of pictures! I also really love how they have created themselves a logo to use as their banner/tittle of blog.
This blog is about two sister's sharing about 'stuff' that they love. I love just reading what they post and getting new ideas from them. The design is very minimalistic and slick. I really like the type that they use on their blog and how they have label sections on their blog for example at the bottom of the page they have tabs labeled 'we shop', 'we Stalk', 'we read'. I think this is just a real unique way of naming their tabs. It shows a little of their personality. I think they have good for a simplistic/minimalistic look for their design as that represents who they are and their style and after all they blog is all about them and stuff they love.
Jolts and Jollies "finding inspiration through, life, love, food and fun." I chose this blog mostly because it was created using blogger and it provided me with some new ideas with what I could do with my own design layout. I like the colours that have been used. They aren't over powering at all. I also really like all of the creative buttons and icons that have been made to fit in with the rest of the styling on the page. They also make navigating around the blog super easy. It is just a real fun blog which grabs your attention and makes you want to have a look around on it, which I think is perhaps one of the reasons it was designed this way.
A lovely being, is another cute little blog that shares the designers interests, style and love for 'stuff'. It uses big photographs and imagery with limited text which I like and has tags under each post which makes it really easy to find other related posts. It is almost like a photo album of all things that the designer loves. It has a bit of a boutique kinda fell to it. It is a nice simple blog that expresses the designer well which I think is important when the blog content is all about them.
You can tell that the blogs I most like are the simplistic and minimalistic ones with quirky/creative detailing expressing who the designer is.
