Project One: Websites that are worth a look

http://www.imagedzign.com/
I think this is a really successful website and what I like about it is that it is not gimmicky in anyway. It is very masculine and the use of black in the background rather than white is quite refreshing for a change and I think contributes to the masculine feel of it. The use of the colour blue is a real nice touch too. I love the font choice too and overall its just a super easy website to navigate around.

http://littlerocket.co.nz/
This is such a nice looking website in my opinion. I love how simple and sleek it looks. Its so clear and informative with the use of both text and images. The name of the design company is what grabbed my attention to begin with and their logo. The website is consistent with its style and layout, using contrast, repetition, rule of thirds and other important design principles. This is probably one of my favourite websites in terms of the design.

http://www.ludlowkingsley.com/
I really like the colours and overall look of this website. The social media menu at the bottom, on the light blue is a real nice touch and I especially love the logo and hand made icons. The use of neutral colours is a nice change from just white or black. I also really like how they have made there image scroll at the top of the page, scroll through the pictures going down the page rather than across like you normally see. Overall I think this is a nice sleek, simple, informative, visually appealing website.

http://www.chesscademy.com/learn
This website is for people who are keen to learn how to play chess. I like how they have "gridded" up their home page and how easy it to navigate around the page. I think its a nice example of how colour can be used with out it being to over powering.

http://www.theministryofdance.com.au/
I love this website. The ministry of dance is really high up in it's field. I really love the black and gold colour palette. You straight way feel like the company must be quality, prestigious, well respected etc because of the use of colours. Their logo is quite fun, using dance figures for some of the letters. It is just so well laid out and easy to navigate around. Lots of information, pictures, videos and quotes to grab your attention. I also really like how they have used banners and scrolls to put text in, on some parts of the website.

http://jazzfestival.co.nz/
I like how the menu tab is at the very top of the website and the big Jazz title underneath is pretty sweet. The font is really unique and the way the have animated it when you scroll down the page is so awesome. I like their colour choice for something different and how the have there photos in hue/saturation format at first glance is a pretty cool idea. The website shows good consistency of layout and theme. I like how when you click on the different menu options at the top, each page has a different colour theme.
